PROFESSIONAL UPHOLSTERY AND MATTRESS CLEANING, PERTH
Your sofa, armchairs, and mattress absorb everything that daily life brings. Skin cells, oils, allergens, dust mites, spills, pet hair, and odours build up inside the fibres over time in ways that surface cleaning cannot address. Cleaning Crusader’s professional upholstery and mattress cleaning extracts what has accumulated deep inside the fabric, using the right method for your specific piece, and leaving every surface fresh, hygienic, and genuinely clean.
METHOD MATCHED TO YOUR FABRIC
Your technician selects the right cleaning method on arrival. No one-size-fits-all approach.
SAFE FOR YOUR HOUSEHOLD
Eco-conscious products throughout. Safe for children, pets, and sensitive household members.
ISO-ALIGNED PROCESS
Every job backed by ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 aligned standards.
WHAT'S INCLUDED IN YOUR UPHOLSTERY AND MATTRESS CLEAN
Every job follows the same structured approach. The method applied within that structure depends on your fabric and level of soiling.
Professional Pre-Vacuum
We begin with an industrial pre-vacuum using a machine fitted with a rotating brush head. This is not a standard home vacuum. The rotating head agitates fibres from the base, releasing embedded debris, pet hair, dust mites, and surface soiling before the main treatment begins.
For hair-heavy environments such as salon and spa upholstery, the pre-vacuum step alone handles the hair before any chemical is applied. No extra process is required.
Cleaning Solution and Agitation
A professional cleaning solution suited to the fabric and soiling level is applied across the full piece. Pre-agitation works the solution evenly through every fibre and into the padding layers beneath the surface before extraction or steam cleaning begins.
This step is what separates a professional clean from a surface spray-and-wipe. The solution reaches the source of the soiling, not just the visible surface.
Extraction or Steam Clean
Depending on the method selected, this is either the extraction of the dry clean solution (pulling dirt and residue out of the fabric), or the hot water extraction pass of the steam clean. Either way, the step removes what the solution has broken down from inside the fibre.
For heavily contaminated upholstery, both methods may be applied in sequence on the same job.
Encapsulation Finish
On dry clean treatments, an encapsulation solution is applied as the final step. A rotary buffer works the solution evenly into every fibre. As it dries over the following days, it draws any remaining particles out of the fibre through a crystallisation process for removal when you vacuum a week later.
Results from an encapsulation clean can continue to improve for up to five days after the treatment is complete.

What Our Customers Say
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you decide which cleaning method to use?
Your technician assesses the condition of your upholstery or mattress on arrival. Well-maintained, lightly soiled pieces are suited to the dry clean method, which uses significantly less water and delivers faster drying times. Heavily soiled pieces, or those affected by pet accidents or deep contamination, receive steam cleaning. In some cases, both methods are applied on the same job for the best possible outcome. The assessment is included at no extra charge.
My sofa does not look that dirty. Does it still need a professional clean?
Upholstery typically looks clean well after it has stopped being clean. Dust mites, body oils, allergens, skin cells, and embedded soiling are all invisible until they cause a stain, an odour, or a health reaction. A professional clean addresses what has built up inside the fibre over time, not just what is visible on the surface. Most households notice a meaningful difference in how their upholstery smells and feels after a professional clean even when they did not think it was particularly dirty beforehand.
How long does upholstery take to dry after the clean?
Drying time depends on the method used and the conditions in your home. Dry clean treatments typically dry within a few hours. Steam clean treatments may take longer, depending on the fabric thickness and room ventilation. Your technician will advise you on the expected drying time for your specific piece. Opening windows and increasing airflow will speed the process.
Can you remove old stains from upholstery?
In many cases, yes. Older stains that have dried and set into the fabric are more challenging than fresh spills, and results depend on the stain type, the fabric, and how long it has been present. We assess every piece before beginning and give you an honest expectation of the likely outcome. We do not overcommit on results we cannot confidently achieve.
Do you clean mattresses?
Yes. Our mattress cleaning service removes dust mites, allergens, skin cells, body oil yellowing, and urine staining where present. The same professional-grade treatment applied to pet urine on carpets is used on mattress staining. It has been observed visibly lifting yellow staining during application in many cases. Results depend on the fabric type, the age of the staining, and the depth of penetration.
Is your cleaning process safe for children and pets?
Yes. All products used throughout the upholstery and mattress cleaning process are eco-conscious and selected for safety around children, pets, and people with sensitivities. Your household can use the cleaned surfaces as soon as they are dry. If you have specific concerns about allergies or product sensitivities, please let us know at the time of booking.
Do you clean leather sofas?
Cleaning Crusader’s current upholstery service covers fabric upholstery. Leather cleaning is not part of this service. If you are unsure about your fabric type, contact us before booking and we will confirm suitability.
Can you clean commercial upholstery such as waiting room chairs and hospitality seating?
Yes. We service commercial upholstery including office chairs, waiting room and reception seating, hospitality chairs and booths, and salon and spa seating. For hair-heavy environments such as salons and spas, the pre-vacuum step handles hair removal without any extra process required. Contact us for a quote based on your specific requirements. For most Perth homes, once every 12 to 18 months is sufficient. Bathrooms, kitchens, and high-traffic areas benefit from a clean every 6 to 12 months. Commercial spaces such as clinics, salons, and hospitality venues should schedule more frequent cleans based on foot traffic and hygiene requirements.
Can I combine upholstery cleaning with a carpet or tile clean?
Yes. Upholstery and mattress cleaning can be combined with carpet cleaning, tile and grout cleaning, stain removal, or pet odour treatment in a single visit. Where upholstery cleaning is added to a carpet clean booking, it is priced at the upholstery rate rather than the minimum charge. Subscribers receive 15% off all add-on services.
